Our ‘Join us’ campaign to attract one million new members kicked off in style last weekend. Ready to support store colleagues all the way are our Member Champions whose role it is to help start those all-important conversations with customers. Here they are with some tips on how to talk.
The power of people was clear to see in 2016 when hundreds of our colleagues had an experience of a lifetime as Back to Being Co-op hosts.
At the time Nick Hutchinson, a store manager turned host from Marple said: “I’ve always been proud of the Co-op but doing this has taken me to the next level. It’s made me a more rounded and better person.”
Now 60 more colleagues (a mix of last year’s Back to Being Co-op hosts and store colleagues passionate about membership) will again do their stuff, helping colleagues in stores across the UK talk to our customers about the benefits of membership.
Matthew Speight, Support Centre Retail Director, said: “We saw in 2016 the impact of the Back to Being Co-op hosts. They were firelighters of change up and down the country. I think Member Champions will be dynamite for us.”
