As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we’re highlighting great stories of our apprentices around the business.

One of the first apprentices at the Co-op was Rachel Bower, who joined us in 2011 straight out of college. She’s now Brand Manager in Group Marketing, where she played a key role in last year’s return of the iconic Co-op brand.

Rachel, who began as a Local Marketing Administration Apprentice, said: “When I finished college I didn’t want to go on to university, so becoming an apprentice was great for me. Joining a large organisation like the Co-op gives you invaluable experience and opens up amazing opportunities to move around the business while developing your career.”

One of our more recent recruits is Elle Reynolds, who is working in the apprenticeship team that helps Co-op to recruit apprentices across its various businesses. Elle, who used to work part time in the Co-op Food store in Heaton Moor, near Stockport is now studying for her Business and Administration Level 3.

Check out our previous story about Funeralcare apprentices and also how we’re winning awards for our apprenticeship schemes.

Look out for more stories and information during this week.
