Alan Campbell receiving his graduation certificate from Catherine Muirden
This year’s Shining Stars graduates celebrated at their recent graduation event. The Shining Stars shared an account of their personal journey over the last 10 months and also presented the outcomes of the business project that they’ve delivered as part of their development programme.
Shining Stars began in Food in 2014 and has taken a selection of colleagues on 10 month development programme to set them up as future leaders while they develop and deliver projects into the business.
The projects delivered were innovative, creative and really underpinned by ways of being Co-op with our unique difference at the forefront. The themes were:
Team Blue Sky – Exploring a business model in alternative convenient locations
Team Sirius – Creation of a member wine
Young Pioneers – Connecting with schools to share our unique brand
Epic ISB – The true cost and impact of our In Store Bakery offer
Capturing the thoughts of one of the teams, the film below gives an insight into how the programme has helped them, the friendships they’ve formed, and what they’ve been through. The graduation ceremony itself was a chance for everyone to showcase what they’ve been working on and share their own highlights, and the challenging moments they had to overcome. It was also a chance to say thank you to all those from around the business who took the time to help them through their development.
This year, the programme has been expanded for the first time to include colleagues from right across our Co-op, with the next intake coming together soon to commence their journey.
Congratulations to all Shining Star graduates – great work and good luck with what you’ll be going on to achieve in the future!
It was my pleasure to deliver an Introduction to Agile Ways of Working training session to them and I found them a very engaged group with a lot of sensible questions and a great team spirit.
Well done and the best of luck in your future endeavours !
