I’m delighted to welcome Matt Atkinson as our new Chief Membership Officer (CMO). Matt will sit on the Group Exec and have responsibility for Membership, Digital, Data, Brand, Marketing, Communications, Community and Campaigning. He’ll join us full-time in the new year, and until then will work with us for a couple of days a week.
The first thing on Matt’s to do list will be to look at how we can make our membership offer work even better for our businesses and our members. His appointment means we can bring back together some of our central functions that play such an important role in developing a more meaningful relationship with our members, returning us to being a campaigning Co-op and making us the most loved membership organisation in the UK.
This completes our new streamlined Group Exec that I committed to building when I became CEO in March. I’m really grateful to Pippa Wicks, Rod Bulmer and Greg Nugent who have been looking after this activity over recent months alongside their day jobs.
A bit about Matt
Matt joins us from SAGA where, as CMO, he helped transform them into a digital organisation, winning new customers and entering new markets. Before SAGA Matt held senior marketing and digital roles at Tesco, P&G and a variety of global media agencies. Matt has huge experience in using data to build relationships that are rewarding for customers and profitable for businesses.
