It’s been another great week for our Co-op as we’re named Retailer of the year at the annual British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) Awards 2017!
The BBPA Awards evening brought together business leaders in the brewing and pub sector, key industry stakeholders, as well as parliamentarians to celebrate the outstanding achievements of key individuals and organisations within the market.
Beating off competition from Waitrose and SPAR to win the prestigious accolade really highlights our commitment in becoming the leading retailer for beers, wines and spirits in the UK.
Simon Cairns, our category trading manager for Beers, Wines and Spirits said: “The team has been working exceptionally hard to bring new and exciting products to our shelves and I couldn’t be prouder of them for winning this award.
“We take a real pride in making maximum use of beer space in stores to champion smaller brewers and a more interesting range for our customers to enjoy and are striving to do as much as possible to build on beer occasions going forward.”
The win comes hot on the heels of our recent Retail Industry Awards (Convenience Retailer of the Year, Food To Go Retailer of the Year and Multiple Drinks Retailer of the Year) and our 16 Global Cheese Awards – so basically we’ve got parties covered!
