Spooky showstopper bakes – who’ll get your vote?
Congratulations to Janet Roberts, Angelina McCarthy and Melissa Owen on winning the first round of our colleague baking competition, hosted on our Co-op Colleagues Facebook page.
These amateur bakers are now working on their Halloween showstopper bakes, and you can vote for your winner on Facebook @coopukcolleagues on Halloween, 31 October.
Here are the three finalists and their fantastic first round bakes.
Melissa Owen baked her clown cake:
“I work in Cricketers Parade Co-op, Worthing. I learned to bake with my Nan as a child. It was always just me and her in the kitchen and we really bonded. It was the first thing I really realised I was good at.”
Angelina McCarthy baked her Minnie Mouse cake:
“I work at the Co-op Stirchley store in Birmingham and I love making cakes as my family loves them and I have fun decorating them.”
Janet Roberts baked her malted caramel cake:
“I work at the support centre in Angel Square, in accounts receivable. I suppose my passion for baking came from my love of crafting. I’m always looking for new things to make, and I’m always starting new hobbies, but baking is something I’ve always enjoyed. I’m often carrying cakes, cupcakes and bakes on the train to work for my workmates to try out.”
