Speaking about the small producers, Simon Dryell, our Head of Local Sourcing, said:

“It was a proud night for the Co-op, great recognition for great product development. We were also pleased to champion and provide a platform for smaller, local, producers. British food is world renowned and the standard of entries has been truly amazing. It’s been a real pleasure to explore the diversity and creativity of produce and we’d like to congratulate all of the finalists.
We know that food provenance, quality and trust are key for our customers, and we’re proud to give local producers pride of place in our stores. It’s exciting to collaborate with smaller producers with their innovation, quality, pride, passion and traditions. The Co-op is dedicated to championing and showcasing local producers, and we’re now keen to work with the finalists of the Small Producer category and offer the technical support and guidance that could help to see their product on the shelves of their local Co-op.”

Congratulations to everyone involved.

  1. Hello, does this mean we will see the Condessa sloe gin in store? It was lovely and was hoping they would win!!

  2. I have to say I’ve tried many sticky toffee puddings from many retailers but Co-op is my absolute favourite. I have to always have some in the fridge and stock up the freezer when it’s on offer. Well done!
The downside is I’m starting to look like a “pudding” :-/

  3. The Cheese Board Hand Cooked crisps are in 2000 stores now, not the 13th December.

  4. Looks great however turn them reds on the packaging to amber/red

  5. That dessert looks fit mate.

  6. Well Done ‘Delicious Food’ – great product development.
I can personally vouch for the Sticky toffee pud and have a text alert list of all my friends for when I notice it on offer !!!
Please please do promote these achievements proudly in our stores with shelf-end displays of ‘award winners’ or large shelf edge star shaped cards, or similar, to highlight the products.
