Silver Choir and KYSO tell us what it was like to be part of the action.

The Silver Choir was created to combat loneliness in the older community. Sharon, Leader of the choir, said: “I really feel the choir brings people together, and it’s been a great source of friends for many people.”

Sharon was really excited to be part of our Christmas ad: “I was so excited, I was actually a little bit shocked. I never imagined I’d be doing something like this,” she added.

KYSO was set up to provide purpose and inspiration to young people in Moss Side, Manchester. Kemoy, KYSO’s Founder and CEO, said: “KYSO is so important in the community. It was created to smash those stereotypes and be a diverse group where everyone is welcome.”

Olivia, KYSO’s Deputy Leader, added: “The Co-op Christmas advert was something else, it was one of my highlights of the year. When we first met the Sliver Choir it was amazing, they taught me how to waltz, we taught them how to pop. It was a really unusual but amazing collaboration. Everyone got up, everyone was dancing. They didn’t care what age they were or anything.”
