Tonight our CEO Steve Murrells will be onstage at Global Citizen Live, to campaign for better support for victims of modern slavery in the UK.

Steve will call for the Government to support an important new Bill from Lord McColl which would give UK victims of slavery guaranteed support for a year. At the moment they only get 45 days and we’ve been campaigning to change that.

Spreading the word about our campaign

Global Citizen campaigns to end global poverty, and this is the second time we’ve worked with them to reach out to their passionate community of social activists.  Last year Steve took to the stage in Hamburg to talk about how Co-op water supports communities around the world.

This year he’ll be sharing the stage with stars like Emeli Sande and Professor Green in a gig that’s held to coincide with the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in London. Former Secretary General of the UN, Kofi Annan, will also be speaking.

Watch live or catch up tomorrow

You’ll be able to watch Steve live online at about 8.15pm (the gig starts at 7.30pm) and he’ll be tweeting throughout the evening. We’ll also share a clip from the event on here tomorrow.
