There are some simple steps that everyone can do right now to prepare for the introduction of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) on 25 May.

This regulation affects us all – both giving you new rights as an individual (download PDF posters about these rights), but also requiring us all to be more mindful and careful when handling other people’s personal information (whether that’s electronic, printed, video, images).

Here is a checklist of things that we shared at a recent colleague event in Manchester to help you get ready, no matter where you work.

You can download this checklist as a PDF.

Those we spoke to at the event said that having a good team discussion was the thing that helped them prepare for GDPR. Thinking through how personal information was captured, stored and deleted as a team helped them keep each other on the right side of the law.

All the info you need about GDPR

Visit the GDPR page on the colleague site (coop.co.uk/colleagues – accessible from any device, any time) to find out more about GDPR and find a range of resources designed to help you understand what it’s all about.
