There are many ways you can improve your mental health, and LifeWorks gives easy access to lots of helpful resources. Today, as part of Mental Health Awareness Week we’re focusing on financial wellbeing.

We know that for some people financial pressures can have a negative impact on their mental health, and can cause stress or depression. Taking care of your financial wellbeing can be as important for your mental health as exercise and diet.

We’ve just launched Neyber as an additional way to help with your financial wellbeing.  Neyber offers fair loans to consolidate existing debts and also provides a wealth of online resources to help with budgeting, savings and debt management.

Alongside Neyber, colleagues also have access to two Credit Unions that offer savings and debt management support. If you’re not sure where to start with money issues then call the Co-op Employee Assistance Programme on 0800 069 8854 in total confidence, to help you to come up with an action plan for your finances.

Day-to-day money management isn’t just about managing debt and savings. As the saying goes ‘take care of the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves’. If you’re a colleague member you have a range of discounts on Co-op products and services.

LifeWorks can also help with their Perks which includes discounts and cashback deals with online and high street retailers.

Tomorrow we’ll look at how diet and exercise can influence your mental health. We’ll only be publishing this article on LifeWorks so if you’re already registered, look out for the notification.
