Thank you for Being Co-op winners at their AGM afternoon tea

You might have been following the stories of our 12 winners over the last few weeks. These are the people you nominated to receive awards for the work they do and the special colleagues they are.

On Saturday, all of them joined us in Manchester for Co-op’s AGM and were congratulated in front of hundreds of Co-op members. For some colleagues it was their first time attending.

As part of their prize they were treated to an afternoon tea. But this wasn’t just any afternoon tea – it was a magical, Willy Wonka-themed delight with chocolate fountains and sweets galore.

You can find out what some of them thought of the experience in the film below.

NOTE: we know videos can’t be watched in store – but you can watch them from your own device, anytime, by searching for ‘Co-op Colleagues’ on YouTube. You can also read a transcript.

Our 11 special individuals and one amazing team were presented with their awards, and joined by Steve Murrells and the Executive.

They got to share their stories with each other and celebrate their achievements.

Unique Co-op experience

For the next part of their prize they get to help us create a special experience only Co-op can offer. So far, Will Hall (Show You Care award winner) is going to Download festival with our Co-op team, and Sam Peake (Store Colleague of the Year) is attending Latitude festival.

We’ll keep you posted on what the others come up with.

Look out for two more this week – Michelle Benton, winner of our Co-op Magic award (nominated by members) and Jo Bale, winner of the Community Star award.

Next week we’ll be sharing the stories of our final two – Store Team Adel (Leeds) who won the Succeeding Together award and Sam Peake – Store Colleague of the Year.
