You’ll probably already know that we’re working with our partners Brake, the road safety charity, to help make our communities and roads safer for everyone.

Our Insurance colleagues are already going into our Academies with Brake to talk to 15 and 16-year-olds about road safety, and now we can all do our bit to help make their Kids’ Walk – aimed at primary school pupils – the biggest and best yet.

On Wednesday 13 June, thousands of children aged 4-11 from across the country will step out to promote road safety as well as the health and planet-saving benefits of walking, without fear or threat from traffic.

The walk will raise awareness of five key elements that make walking safer for pedestrians:

  • footpaths
  • cycle paths
  • safe places to cross
  • slow traffic and
  • clean traffic.

If you’re able to help – either by encouraging your local primary schools to take part, or by donning a high viz vest and helping supervise the walk on the day – please register your interest. There are full details on the Brake website.
