Festivals are a major part of summer for many of us; they’re a reason to get out into the sun (and sometimes rain), listen to great music and share unforgettable experiences with friends old and new. That’s why we’re so proud to be taking our brand new 6,000 sq ft pop-up shop to four festivals this summer – Download, Latitude, Reading and Leeds.

Festivals are nothing without people, and the same goes for Co-op. We’ve got a fantastic group of colleagues coming to work in our on-site stores, and we’re excited to see them interact, have fun and celebrate while delivering first-class service to our new customers.

This weekend, our pop-up store will come to life for the first time at Download festival, providing thousands of happy campers with all their festival favourites and everyday essentials. But we want to spread the festival love as far as possible, so we’re giving you the chance to be there too!

We’ve got three pairs of weekend tickets up for grabs for each of the remaining festivals. Do you – plus a guest of your choice – like the idea of spending the weekend at Latitude, Reading or Leeds? If the answer’s yes, then check out our Facebook post, where you can enter by answering these two questions:

Which festival do you want to go to? And what song do you want to hear there?

We can’t wait to read all your answers – we’ll be picking the winners at random, but for everyone that enters, it’s a great chance to learn about all our colleagues’ soundtracks to the summer. The competition closes on 22 June, so get your musical hats on and get entering!*

Are you interested in writing, journalism, or sharing your stories? In the newest issue of Let’s Talk About Food, we launched an exclusive competition for one lucky wordsmith to win VIP tickets to Latitude as a Co-op press packer. Entries are still open – check out page 8 of our newly digitised magazine to learn more.

*Win 1 of 9 pairs x General Access Weekend Camping Tickets to either Latitude, Leads or Reading Festival (3 pairs for each Festival) for you and a friend. To enter, comment and tell us “which festival you’d like to go to and what song you’d like to hear?”. Open to Co-operative Group employees aged 18+ only. Internet access required. Entries must be submitted between 17:00 on 08.06.18 and 23:59 on 22.06.18. Prizes allocated to winners at random. Promoter is Co-operative Group Food Limited. Full T&Cs apply.

  1. Couple of questions.

How did that pop-up shop perform at it’s first festival? It was a big store (16 tills) so would have needed to go some to make a decent return? I’ve heard all sorts of stories about it so it would be nice to here the official view.

Why are you promoting the use of Facebook exclusively when they have revealed themselves to be so shifty and untrustworthy? It’s not exactly #fundinghate but they an organisation doing dirty work and lying about it. Why are we endorsing that?

    • Hi, thanks for your comment. We’ve received some fantastic feedback from both the customers and our colleagues at Download festival. We’re currently reviewing the data from the weekend, but we do know that the store team was kept very busy and we’re happy with the response from festival goers and the positive impact we made on their festival experience.
