With Remembrance Sunday around the corner, we’re really pleased about the launch of the UK’s first poppy hearse. Requests for alternative hearses have been rising and we saw this as an opportunity to offer our clients and the local communities something different.

The idea for a poppy hearse came from the incredible reaction we received when we unveiled our Rainbow hearse, which dazzled crowds at the Brighton Pride 2017 festival.

Over the past 12 months, we’ve been working on the design of the new Remembrance hearse. We worked through numerous concepts that weren’t right or impactful enough against the black background of the vehicle itself. The final design is simple, elegant and has precisely 100 red poppies on it – one to represent each year since the end of WWI.

The new hearse will be officially unveiled at Putney Funeralcare on Friday 9 November, where we’ll have the local mayor, representatives from Chelsea Pensioners and the Royal British Legion.

We’ve received lots of requests for the poppy hearse already and we’re pleased to say that it will be available nationwide for funerals organised by Co-op Funeralcare at any location across the UK.
