This week’s episode of Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast, takes a look at how eggs from caged hens are still being sold and used in the UK.

Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty are asking for the food industry and retailers to make the move to only selling and using Free Range eggs. It’s a campaign which is close to their hearts.

Here at the Co-op we pride ourselves on leading the way and that’s why in 2008 we decided to only sell Free Range eggs and since 2010 if we need to use egg as in ingredient on our own brand products we make sure they’re Free Range.

Jamie and Jimmy visited our Crouch End, London, store over the summer where they caught up with our very own Breige Donaghy, Director of Delicious Food, to hear for themselves how Co-op are leading the way and how we made the move to only Free Range eggs.

Tune in to Channel 4 at 8pm on Friday 11 January to see more.

  1. That’s not a Co-op, its an Asda. It has no ceiling.
