By Caroline Sellers, Assistant Secretary

As a member owned business, our AGM and elections give you a chance to get involved in our democracy, and vote on:

  • Our motions – these include important things like what we campaign on, and how we work. This year you can vote on our Safer Colleagues, Safer Communities work, Fairtrade and Responsible Sourcing
  • Our Member Nominated Directors who help set the business strategy, oversee our commercial and financial performance and make sure we’re staying true to our values and principles
  • Our Council members who make sure members’ voices and interests are heard at the highest level in our business

This year our AGM is being held on Saturday 18 May at Manchester Central and if you’re an eligible member, then you’re invited to come along or watch live online.

Use your vote

Before this though, we’re really keen that colleague members use their vote and help us shape our future. You can find out if you are eligible to vote here by logging onto your Membership account.

If you’re eligible you may have already received your invitation to vote. Don’t worry if you haven’t yet though as invites are still being sent via email and post. If you’ve not received anything by Monday 29 April please contact the AGM team.

You’ll notice that there aren’t any paper voting packs this year, instead all the information you’ll need to complete your vote is on-line. To vote in our Elections you’ll need to vote online or by post by Monday 13 May. You can also vote on our motions this way or you can attend the AGM and vote on the day.
