By Jim Cooke, Head of the Co-op Foundation

I’m delighted to share ‘Working Together To Make Things Better’ – a review of everything that the Co-op Foundation has achieved and learned over the past three years.

Highlights include:

  • Awarding £6.5 million of Belong grants to projects helping young people beat loneliness – continuing the legacy of Co-op’s tackling loneliness campaign
  • Supporting more than 200 community spaces – part of our contribution to Co-op’s Co-operate 2022 community plan
  • Bringing together funding from external partners and support from Co-op colleagues, members and customers, to make an even bigger difference for communities

We’re grateful to everyone who has supported our work over the last three years – we couldn’t have achieved all this without you. Co-op Members can continue to choose the Co-op Foundation as their Local Cause and you can also help us by donating clothes to official textile banks at Co-op stores.

We’ll have lots more to update you on in 2020. As the Co-op’s charity, we’ll be playing a part in delivering each of the three priorities of Co-operate 2022 – wellbeing, skills and spaces. We’ll also be launching our new Foundation strategy in April.
