It’s safe to say that it’s been another incredible, yet challenging week. Last weekend we celebrated our first bank holiday in lockdown with social distancing measures in place. After nearly a month, we’re getting a little more used to it, but many of us weren’t able to celebrate with our family and friends as we usually would. However, that didn’t stop us from giving back to our local communities, supporting our NHS and helping those less fortunate.
Every day, you showcase the incredible things – no matter how big or small – that you do that make a significant difference to our colleagues, customers, members and communities during these hard times. You’ve given away Easter Eggs to NHS workers to bring them a moment of happiness, like the team at Mill Road. You’ve supported emergency workers, like the team in Rothbury, who delivered essential goods to firefighters tackling countryside fires. And you continue to give essential comfort in times of need, like Jayne Pearce did at a funeral for a local entertainer.
I’ve pulled together more examples of the incredible things you all are doing, take a look here and keep a lookout on Yammer and social media for more of our #LocalHeroes.
These continue to be challenging times, but I’m so grateful for every single one of you for continuing to do your best every day and play your critical part in serving the nation. You’re all local heroes – thank you.
