I’m going to try and tempt you to dust off the BBQ with our brand-new BBQ lines which launched in store this month. The team and I have been developing and perfecting these products since last year, and I’d love to share some of my favourites with you which I think you’ll like.

The whole range was inspired by the spicy, tangy, sweet and sticky flavours of South America and Asian BBQ. From burgers, kebabs and ribs, to chicken and vegan options, there’s something for everyone.

Southern style

When it comes to American BBQs, you know they mean business. Last year, I was lucky enough to visit New York to explore local restaurants and street food vendors to get inspiration for our 2020 range.

Our Irresistible Rib and Brisket Beef Burger with Cheddar and Ale Melt is a personal favourite of mine. We’ve chosen the best cuts of Hereford beef rib and brisket to make these burgers. They’re juicy and utterly delicious, topped with a melting cheddar cheese and ale topping. In my opinion, they are the best ‘dirty’ finger-licking burgers on the market!

You can’t have an American BBQ without chicken. You might like our Carolina Style Chicken Wings, served with a southern-style honey BBQ sauce. The sweet and spicy combo is a real treat for the taste buds.

Oriental inspiration

Our Asian style products are inspired by Chinese spices and Korean style BBQs. The flavours are delicate and are packed full of umami flavours.

The Teriyaki Chicken Kebabs are tender and delicious. Pieces of chicken thighs marinated with an oriental-style glaze and to top it off, they’re finished with a tangy teriyaki drizzle which delivers a sweet and sticky finish.

For an extra special something for your BBQ, you might want to try our new Asian Style Pork Belly Slices. British RSPCA assured pork is seasoned with a Korean-inspired spice rub, with hints of chilli and coriander. The rub has strong savoury soy sauce notes and a fiery heat for something a little spicy!

GRO-ing one step further

If you fancy something meat free, we’ve got some fantastic additions to GRO which I know you’ll love. We’ve got sausages, burgers and chicken style products to tempt you.

Our GRO Chick’n’ Burgers are tender and succulent wheat protein burgers coated in a crispy golden breadcrumb. Or maybe try our GRO Beat Burger – they’re made from beetroot, chickpeas, lentils and seitan, plus they’re seasoned with garlic, thyme, salt and black pepper. These burgers taste amazing and are a real treat on the BBQ.

If you don’t fancy a burger, we also have our awarding winning GRO Sizzlin’ Sausages. These are mushroom-based vegan sausages, seasoned with parsley and black pepper. The flavour is rich and mushroomy with aromatic sage and a peppery warmth.

If that’s not enough, we’re also excited to launch our GRO Vegan Brioche Buns and our GRO Vegan Coleslaw – coming soon! These are the perfect accompaniment to your favourite burger combo and will complete any vegan BBQ.
