If you’re looking for something to liven up your lunchtime, look no further than our limited edition sandwich straight from the famous Weatherfield cobbles. Thanks to the distinctive packaging, you certainly won’t miss our Coronation Street Chicken Sandwich when it hits the shelves from today (Wednesday 23 September).

In 2018, Co-op was crowned the Official Community Retail Partner for Coronation Street. This is a really exciting product placement partnership we’ve got with ITV. With our very own store located in iconic Weatherfield, we’ve been able to serve some of the much loved soap characters from one of the UK’s favourite local communities.

To celebrate the partnership – the largest of it’s kind on British TV – we decided to bring together two British classics and I’m delighted to introduce our Coronation Street Chicken Sandwich. It’s jam-packed with a tasty blend of British chicken with spiced mayonnaise, mango chutney, spinach and sultanas on onion seed bread, all encased in the exclusive ‘brickwork’ packaging reminiscent of the buildings on that famous street. We think you’ll agree it’s a perfect choice to make for that lunchtime refuel.

You can pick up one of these tasty treats for £2.50, but to get even more value for your money, why not make it into a meal deal – enjoying a snack and a drink alongside the sandwich and all for just £3.50.* But, if you fancy getting your hands on one, you’re going to have to be quick about it. They’re limited edition so they won’t be around for long and once they’re gone they’re gone!

We’d love to know you thoughts, make sure you share your pictures of your sandwiches on social media using #CoopOnTheCobbles.

*Sandwich available in 2,125 Co-op Food stores nationwide. Offer valid when you buy a main, side and drink included in Co-op’s £3.50 meal deal. Sandwich also sold separately at £2.60.

  1. I hope these are still around at Christmas time, as I always do my elderly Mum (who is 100 in April)
a food hamper as one of her presents and as she is a big fan of Coronation St she will be thrilled to have a pack of sandwiches.
