This week we’re showing our support for Social Enterprise UK’s (SEUK) Buy Social campaign.

Launched in 2017, the annual event gives social enterprises, like ours, a platform to showcase their great work and encourages people to spend their money where it’ll have the biggest impact.

When you buy from a social enterprise, you’re choosing to spend with a business that puts people and planet first, one that creates jobs where they’re most needed and reinvests profits to help improve the world we share.

Probably now more than any other year is the time for us all to think about the things we can all do – no matter how small – to make things a little bit fairer for our communities.

2020 has highlighted the inequalities at large in society. That’s why earlier this month we changed Co-op Membership and doubled the amount we give to communities when our members choose Co-op.

Now, every time they buy selected Co-op branded products and services, 2p for every pound spent goes to them and we’re giving the same to community causes.

We’re just one example of a social enterprise doing good in communities across the UK. But, no matter where you live, chances are there’ll be other social enterprises near you.

Have a look at SEUK’s directory and check if there are any you could buy from and support down the road.

For right now, you can help by supporting this year’s campaign on social media using #BuySocial to share stories about the difference our Co-op makes in communities, or other social enterprises that strike a chord with you.

Feel free to use our pre-drafted tweet for Twitter. And you’ll be in with the chance of winning exclusive prizes if you share content through Social Hub!

Together, we can help make things a little bit fairer.
