At the end of September, we made some exciting changes to Co-op Membership and doubled what goes to communities when members shop.
We introduced exclusive member deals, improved our Co-op App and rewarded all our colleague members with 20% off Co-op branded products in food stores year-round, alongside the 10% discount available on other brands.
A lot of work went in to get everything across the line, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of – too many to mention – colleagues across Co-op.
Despite everything else that’s been going on, the support from our frontline teams has been amazing. We’ve seen so many pictures of perfectly placed POS and Co-op Membership displays.
There’ve even been Star Wars and Family Fortunes video parodies to celebrate the changes. Yes, you read that correctly. We’re looking at you, Joe Scoot and Simon Dryell!
Everyone’s support isn’t going unnoticed. Since Wednesday 30 September, the Co-op App has reached over one million downloads, 90,000 customers have joined us as members and a record number of 742,000 members selected a cause in the last round of our Local Community Fund.

This week we’re taking to social media to celebrate the £15 million our members have helped raise for communities in the past year.
And, today, we’ll also air a new Co-op Membership TV ad to reignite the conversation about how, in a doubly hard year, we doubled our support for communities:
