You may have seen from our recent announcements that Uplift 2021 is just 5 days away! But if you haven’t – don’t worry, I’m here to share with you my excitement on what’s in store for you. So, first things first…
What is Uplift 2021?
Uplift 2021 is our first-ever virtual colleague festival, and the lights on the Uplift main stage will turn on for the very first time on 29 March.
The festival is all about supporting your wellbeing in all manner of ways. It’s been created by colleagues, for colleagues, as a way of saying a massive thank you for your incredible work over the last 12 months and for the support you and your loved ones have provided to each other and to your communities.
We hope the festival unites us all in a feeling of hope for brighter days ahead, as we face the next part of this journey together.
What can you expect?
Uplift 2021 kicks off at 10am on Monday 29 March with Steve Murrells officially launching the festival. It then runs for 14 days, until Sunday 11 April. There’s an action-packed schedule lined up, including a comedy night with a Live at the Apollo favourite, a pantomime produced by Co-op, and music from Untold Orchestra (plus some very special Co-op guests) and Abandoman!
The opening night sees Ruby Wax and Gareth Thomas in conversation with BBC’s Dan Walker for an intimate conversation on mental health, while our closing weekend features none other than Craig David presents TS5!
There are many moments to pause and reflect with Yaron Engler’s Energy and Relaxation Booster sessions, as well as Mental Gym Daily Drop-ins. You can also use Uplift 2021 to connect with other colleagues over a cuppa, while a brand-new activity pack lets you get creative with your family over the bank holiday weekend.
Whether you feel you need a chance for some laughter and escape, or a chance for some quiet and internal focus, Uplift 2021 is there to give you the space and resource you need.

A set of wellbeing cards can also be accessed from the footer on the festival site, which provide information on all of the wellbeing services and resources available to you and your families through the Co-op.
