It’s been a long old wait, but we’re so pleased to share that parkrun is back and now open to everyone in the UK!
From race around the world challenges to (not)parkruns, we’ve partnered with parkrun throughout lockdown up to the recent re-launch, and we’ve been amazed at our colleague’s commitment to lacing up and getting outside. But I’m sure all you regular parkrunners will be excited to return to the weekly events!
Getting up and getting out is really important. It’s so easy to stay indoors at the weekend without even realising, but simply walking, jogging or running can do wonders for our wellbeing and can make us feel so much better. That’s why parkrun is such a great thing to do.
Every Saturday morning, 716 locations across the UK will be opening their park doors to people from their local communities. You’ll be able to log your 5k runs, walks or jogs and take part in what usually becomes a Saturday ritual where nobody ever finishes last. After your parkrun is complete, you’ll have the chance to catch-up with fellow parkrunners over a warm coffee. And what’s more, there’s also prizes up for grabs!
- When you register for the colleague challenge you get a free Co-op x parkrun branded snood
- After 3 parkruns you get your hands on a free Co-op x parkrun t-shirt
- After 10 parkruns you’ll get a branded water bottle
How to sign up
Sign up to parkrun and be a Co-op colleague parkrunner here. When you sign up, you’ll be able to see the nearest parkrun location to where you live. You can also sign up for our race around the challenge or sign up for (not)parkrun on the page.
We know that not everyone will be comfortable with walking, jogging or running with other people yet.
If you’re not quite ready yet, (not)parkrun is an opportunity for parkrunners to submit a 5k walk, jog or run on a route of your choosing. Like parkrun, you can either run, walk or jog and you can record up to one activity per day, with the fastest time each included in a weekly results table.
