CEO Winner: Chantal Carr – Funeral Arranger

Chantal is so dedicated to her role she gives 100% to everyone and everything. Despite often juggling several things at any one time, Chantal can always be relied on to make time to listen to anyone.

In one of the busiest funeral homes in the height of the pandemic, Chantal’s home was looking after 30 families over a two-week period.

During this time, Chantal noticed that an elderly gentleman who’d been arranging a funeral for his late wife, hadn’t been in contact for a couple of days. As this was out of character for him, Chantal decided to ring and check how he was. Following several unanswered calls, Chantal visited his home address.

When she arrived, she found the gentleman on the floor his hallway. Chantal stayed with the gentleman, offering reassuring words to him through the letterbox as they waited for the arrival of the emergency services. The police officer was shocked when he learned Chantal wasn’t a carer or a relative, but a local funeral arranger.

Chantal later found out that the gentleman had had a stroke and had been laying on the ground for a few hours. His family were incredibly grateful to Chantal and the fact her kindness and compassion led her to visit and find that something was wrong.
